About the Scholarship

The Bernadine Vigue Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded in April 2023 to ensure that higher education is accessible and attainable for aspiring Native students.

Prior to her passing, Bernadine wanted her family to carry on her lifelong support of the Tribal and Community College experience by providing mentorship and the financial means for Native students to reach greater academic heights and future success.

Bernadine's family will continue her legacy by directly supporting students in achieving their dreams through higher education. The inaugural Bernadine Vigue Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students attending Tribal or Community College for the 2023-2024 academic year.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled members or descendants of a federally recognized tribe while demonstrating a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 and maintaining full-time enrollment.
